9th November 2009 Meeting

The November meeting and Christmas party was held at Ettamogah Pub in Rouse Hill. We booked the front function room based on Ettamogah’s trademark appearance (an outback pub) and enjoyed Martin’s Jabiru fly-away presentation, Selsby Solutions shipping talk, tool talk and a whole lot more.

A bunch of us arrived early to have dinner downstairs in the pub dining area before we started the presentations and the meeting itself. The rotor contingent came in strong with Norm, Grant and Richard. Discussions were made about the recent Wedderburn – NSW Sport Aircraft Club Open Day, which some of us attended, amongst a range of other aviation discussion topics.

After dinner we made our way up to the function room where Martin kicked off  his presentation, his trip away in the Jabiru. Martin’s presentation was very detailed and we were given a thorough insight into the details of the trip and the prior planning involved.

Following Martin’s presentation we were delighted to have Greg Selsby from Selsby Solutions speak about freight and shipping. Greg spoke about the different methods of transport and some of the finer details sending larger shipments. Greg has also supplied a summary from our freight and shipping discussions. There is also a website for Selsby Solutions with more information about their customs and  freight services for shipping your aircraft parts.

Tools were also discussed in light of our idea to buy some tools that can be shared between members.

More to come…
